Research Assistant in Nursing Research and Practice, 80–100%, fixed-term contract for 3 years with the option of extension

The Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a Research Assistant in Nursing Research and Practice.  

Responsibilities:  This position offers the opportunity to rethink nursing and effectively translate research into practice. The position is a 40–50% part-time role at Bern University of Applied Sciences and at Haslibrunnen AG in Langenthal. Actively shape research-practice partnerships and coordinate scientific research questions arising from nursing practice. Acquire, plan, conduct, and manage research projects. Transfer research findings into practice and promote evidence-based advancements in long-term care.&Publish and present scientific findings, and build networks in practice and academia (nationally and internationally). Provide professional guidance to students, practice teams, and project teams, and contribute to the further development of nursing quality

Requirements: Master of Science in Nursing or an equivalent university degree in health sciences, social sciences, education, or psychology. At least two years of professional experience. Ideally, experience in scientific research. Very good knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system. Solid knowledge of statistics as well as practical experience with RStudio, SPSS, and MAXQDA. Application materials will be reviewed by both employers during the selection process.

New: Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in Cardiology, 80–100%, permanent position

The Inselspital University Hospital of Bern is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a Cardiology Advanced Practice Nurse (APN).

Responsibilities: Supporting, advising, and empowering nursing professionals in complex patient situations, particularly those involving patients with LVADs and heart transplants. Promoting individualized, evidence-based, and high-quality care in close coordination with the interprofessional treatment team. Ensuring the quality of care within the shared governance team in collaboration with subject matter experts, department management, and the clinical nursing instructor. Developing, implementing, and refining guidelines, standards, projects, and working groups. Providing professional leadership, coaching, and training for subject matter experts and nursing staff.

Requirements: Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) or nearing completion of the program, with a strong desire for professional development. Several years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital and a passion for tackling challenging nursing issues.

The Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMW / ASSM) is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as ELSI / Data Governance Project Manager.

Responsibilities: Supporting researchers with questions regarding legal, ethical, societal, or cross-institutional data governance processes within the context of multicenter, data-driven projects. Project and contract management in connection with the activities and services of SPHN. Supporting the SPHN ELSI team and working groups in developing a data governance strategy for the efficient secondary use of health data in multicenter research projects. Preparation, follow-up, and facilitation of ELSI working group meetings, drafting discussion papers, coordinating stakeholders participating in the working groups, and related communication and documentation. Compiling relevant information and identifying trends regarding the reuse of health data and its added value in the Swiss and international context (reviewing literature, attending conferences, and exchanging ideas with experts).

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in medical ethics, medical law, biomedical sciences, or a related field. Strong understanding of biomedical/data-driven research, ideally with experience in regulatory affairs/data governance. Experience in project management in the healthcare sector, the pharmaceutical industry, or the academic field of biomedical sciences. Interest in legal, ethical, and societal issues as well as data protection requirements related to multicenter, data-driven projects or registries containing health data. Experience with regulatory requirements at the intersection of artificial intelligence (development and application) is a plus. Fluent German with good knowledge of French, business-level English. At least 2 years of experience in a similar position is a significant advantage.

You have proven experience in developing new degree programs, scaling continuing education offerings, and, where applicable, in the digitization of teaching. You impress with your in-depth knowledge of the educational landscape and the Swiss healthcare system. In addition to German, you are fluent in English. You are highly committed, flexible, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset. You enjoy working in a results-oriented manner within an interdisciplinary team. New: Head of the Oncology Nursing Competency Team / ANP Team, 80–100%, permanent position

Aarau Cantonal Hospital is seeking a dedicated individual to lead the Oncology Nursing Competence Center/ANP Team.

Responsibilities: You will support and empower nursing staff across all departments of the Aarau Cantonal Hospital in the care of patients with oncological and onco-hematological conditions. You will accompany, train, and advise patients with oncological conditions across departments through direct clinical nursing practice or in a consultative setting. You will provide professional leadership, support, and coaching to specialists and nursing experts in the Oncology Competence Team/ANP. You will work in all departments (surgery, women’s and children’s health, medicine) providing direct care to oncology patients. You will develop and update subject-specific SOPs, guidelines, and protocols in collaboration with clinical and nursing experts and other professional groups. You will lead and oversee projects related to professional development in oncology and ensure the quality of care in the oncology department. Together with the Nursing Development Management, you will implement Advanced Practice Nurse roles for oncology patients. Together with the Mittelland Oncology Center, you will take the lead in nursing audits and certifications in the field of oncology. You compile current nursing quality metrics, initiate measures, plan evaluations, and delegate implementation to the clinical and nursing experts in the respective departments. You develop strategic directions in collaboration with the Head of Nursing Development. You ensure interprofessional collaboration through appropriate channels.

Requirements: Several years of professional experience in acute care (oncology nursing), Master of Science in Nursing or currently pursuing a degree, Advanced leadership training (e.g., CAS) is a plus or a willingness to pursue it, Understanding of strategic, operational, and scientific issues, Professional demeanor and enthusiasm for advancing the field within an interprofessional team
