Mentoring

Role development in practice for entry-level Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) in psychiatric care (outpatient, inpatient, outreach/home-based services, private practices, health centers, etc.)

Although students in a Nursing Science program are now prepared for their role development during their studies, practical challenges arise during the transition into everyday practice. These challenges are highly individual and therefore require tailored approaches.

Need solutions and support. Mentors who themselves work in such roles and have a broad range of experience can provide support here. Whether it's specific APN role development, questions about the possibility of billable services, challenges in interprofessional teams, or pioneering work in a field that hasn't been developed yet—all concerns can be discussed, ideally making it easier to carefully grow into the new field of work.

Registrations from individuals or institutions can be made either directly with the professionals listed below or, in cases where the request is unclear, by contacting Sabrina Laimbacher as the initial point of contact for further distribution. Email: sabrina.laimbacher@bfh.ch

It is important to clarify the assignment during an initial free telephone conversation. All mentors offer a limited number of appointments. You can choose between virtual contact, visits to the mentors themselves, or visits by the mentor to your location.

The costs amount to an hourly flat rate of CHF 50 for individuals, CHF 30 for students, CHF 150 for institutions, and travel time (half-fare, 2nd class) if required.
