Why do we need a national research agenda?
Cancer care is becoming increasingly complex, as more and more patients are being treated in highly specialized and interdisciplinary treatment centers. At the same time, Switzerland is facing a shortage of personnel and must continue to strengthen the culture and visibility of specialized oncology nursing. There is a growing demand for specialized oncology nursing services supported by education, clinical practice, and research.
Research can make an important contribution by providing the necessary insights to strengthen clinical practice and education and to enable decision-makers to make evidence-based decisions about the future of cancer care.
What to Expect
The program features three inspiring presentations by experts in oncology nursing, focusing on the following topics:
- Nursing Practice
- Employee Well-Being
- Patient Involvement
A keynote address by Prof. Dr. Amanda Drury, who has extensive expertise in oncology nursing as well as in the development of national and international research agendas, will set the tone for the afternoon. Building on these insights, participants will then have the opportunity to actively contribute to and help shape the Swiss research agenda in oncology nursing.
