Updates committees and office

Board

Structured progress
After the change of office, we on the Board of Directors are now in the process of reorganizing the way we work. We will use departmental allocations to clarify the responsibilities of the Board members in order to make collaboration and the handling of strategic topics and tasks more efficient. The overall responsibility of the President will of course remain the same, but this will allow us to reduce the number of tasks and improve our response time to technical, political and scientific concerns, etc.

Strategy in focus
The VfP/APSI has a clear strategy, the implementation of which has now been somewhat delayed due to the change of office. We will therefore take another look at the strategy at our May meeting and set realistic priorities for this year. We are networked with various bodies through our Board members and our active members in the academic societies. We want to strengthen this network even further. Many thanks to all members who are actively involved in the external impact of the VfP/APSI.

Congratulations!
The Executive Board congratulates Franziska Geese on winning the Oncology Nursing Research Award. We congratulate all other award winners and are proud of the excellent representation of VfP/APSI members.

We congratulate Dr. Caroline Gurtner Co-President (AfG Psychiatric Nursing) on successfully completing her doctorate. The topic of her thesis is: "Exploring Shared Decision Making in Swiss Acute Psychiatric Care"! Congratulations Caroline!

AFGs

As every year, AS Oncology Nursing was co-organiser of the Oncology Nursing Congress on 27 March 2025 at the Kursaal in Bern, together with Oncology Nursing Switzerland.

AFG Rehabilitation Care
The AFG Rehabilitation Care is working flat out on a position paper on rehabilitation care. The mandate to develop the project went to the FH Ost under the direction of Prof. Dr. Heidrun Gattinger. The project will run from November 2024 to October 2025. At the 1st management symposium of the IGRP (Interest Group for Rehabilitation Nursing) in Bad Ragaz on 19 March 2025, Prof. Dr. Heidrun Gattinger from FH Ost gave a presentation on the rehabilitation nursing position paper. This was followed by a World Café discussion with around 100 participants, moderated by members of the AFG and employees of FH Ost. The results of the World Café will be incorporated into the development of the position paper. Preparations are currently underway for a nationwide survey of nursing professionals. The event was a complete success.

AFG Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care
Isabelle Mathier, nursing expert APN-CH, RN, MScN, PMHNP, Ph.D. student, leading nurse practitioner and co-president of AfG Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care, deals with remuneration models for nurse practitioners in outpatient primary care in her doctoral thesis. She has summarized one of her studies for us. This is important food for thought for anyone concerned with the topic of remuneration for the services of nurse practitioners. Office

We admit it: Our association management software is not (yet) quite our friend. But we'll keep at it - we promise.

At the same time, we are in the midst of preparations for the General Assembly and the conference in Lucerne, shaping and developing our collaboration with the Board and the AFGs and looking forward - not only to the summer, but also to the moment when the takeover challenges are behind us.

Then we would like to take the next step together with you: Further develop our services, establish real added value and make the VfP even more visible as a strong professional association.
